I would say not having a fundamental knowledge of the process and "trusting" in what they are doing is a large risk. How do we know that another simple method does not exist that could achieve the same goal at a reasonable cost. Why not just run a hot knife along the edge or something instead of a laser, then nobody has to pay for natcore tech. I'm playing devils advocate not to troll, but to actually try and get to the bottom of this. I have searched around with no results so it may be worth contacting management.
