"As far as I know we are the largest and highest ore grade scandium deposit ...that will be going into commercial production." -Mark Smith
Wrong... not even close. Nio is one of the lower grade scandium deposits and I'd put them in 4th or 5th place at best. They don't even have a primary scandium deposit and from my reading of their technical reports it shows that the scandium grades are not correlated with the other minerals they are mining. Just off the top of my head Scandium International Mining corp, Metallica and Cleanteq in NSW are much more advanced and are at a much higher grade to the point that I can't even compare it to Nio, especially when I consider it is quite likely much of SCY's tech has been ripped off by most of its competitors. Even molycorp and Platina and a half dozen other juniors are discovering scandium deposits and there is plenty of scandium out there in the earth's crust. I do not think nio is a prudent bet on scandium and that it is more of a promotional angle at this juncture in time.
If the CEO of one of the most hyped "scandium" companies doesn't really know about their competitors in such a small market and makes such unfounded claims... I've become even more skeptical of niocorp's whole scandium skew.
I'll stick with SCY. Professional businessmen and scientists with amazing geology and no one hyping the stock aside from me.
