If the other poster is true in that they paid $165k for this feature, I think the editor of this magazine would have been more than happy to print anything as long as it fells within the guidelines of not giving investment advice.
Once again, the answer to that is NO. If you were talking about the Oregon Duck Register or some other local rag, I'd say that they'd be more than happy to accept your $165K for a fluff piece. But again, we're talking about the NY Times. They not going to profile ANYONE because someone is willing to write them a check. If I offered them $165K to print a 5-page promotion defending the confederacy rights, or profiling NAMBLA or some other skeevy organization, they'd kick me right out the door and to the curb.
