By Tessa Patterson. CREATED Apr 17, 2015 TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a 41-year-old male Mexican national Thursday after a failed attempt to smuggle 122 pounds of marijuana through the Port of Douglas.
With the help of a CFB narcotics detection canine, eight bundles of marijuana, worth over $61,000, were discovered within the rear cab wall of a Mazda truck.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and referred the subject to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
By Tessa Patterson. CREATED Apr 17, 2015 TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Mexican national Wednesday for attempting to smuggle $50,000 worth of cocaine through the Port of Nogales at the Dennis DeConcini crossing.
Officers and a narcotics-detection canine inspected Luis Jaview Guerrero-Tirado, 22, of Nogales, Son., and discovered nearly five pounds of cocaine in the vehicle battery of his Chrysler sedan.
Officers processed the vehicle and drugs for seizure, and referred Guerrero to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
