The Gospel is so simple, humanity does not want to believe it. We are geared to compare ourselves to Hitler or Lenin or Stalin or Pol Pot etal. Straw men arguments all.

The magic password is "I realize I am a sinner and deserve nothing but punishment for my sins. I accept your free gift."

Many years ago I headed up a children's ministry. One night I was speaking at the final awards ceremony to a crowded congregation.
I used this example of childlike faith. I had my son stand on top of the 5' wood barrier separating the piano from the podium. I told my son to jump off and I would catch him. Without hesitation, he jumped and I caught him. Childlike faith. I then asked an adult to do the same thing and that person declined. Why? No childlike faith.
That is how simple and how difficult it is get saved.
The faith has to be in the One doing the catching, not in the person doing the jumping. God is a great Catcher.
