Samung products uses 1) high performance logic process technology,
2) leading edge DRAM process technology, and 3) leading edge flash
memory process technology. Fabs for these three different classes
of products have a very different mix of tools and capabilities so are
generally not interchangeable. Process R&D for these three types
of products tend to have little mutual overlap.

I doubt it is that black and white but I can't prove you wrong. You are certainly right that you can't just use the same equipment to produce both, but Intel just mentioned that Micron uses its fabs for memory production, so there is an overlap - certainly not 100%, but that wasn't what I wanted to suggest.

I predict process parity before the end of this decade for Samsung and Intel - we'll see.
