lmorovan,

I agree, we are sinners. You will not find Scripture teaching that the faith of someone else in their family can save a child. You again are twisting Scripture to support what you have been taught.

Each member of his house believed and was baptised, they were not saved because someone else believed on their behalf, that is ridiculous. According to your view, a Christ rejecting son or daughter could live a life in opposition to Christ, die and be saved because their father or mother were believers.

Acts 16:30-34

30 and after he brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

31 They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house.

33 And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household.

34 And he brought them into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, having believed in God with his whole household.

Scripture does not reveal to us what happens to those who die before hearing or being able to comprehend the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is certainly not your duty or your place to make things up. When Scripture is silent on a topic like this, it is silent. God will handle it, He is just and whatever He chooses to do in these situations will be a just decision. We are not called as Christians to have all of the answers to these type of questions, because God has chosen not to reveal the answers in His Word. We are to share the gospel and proclaim it until He comes again.

The concept of an age of accountability is simply a concept, the Bible is silent on this. Some children come to know and understand the gospel at an early age, some later, there isn't a set age at which you become accountable. What about a child that is born with a defect that limits their cognitive capability to that of a two year old and they live to be 50? I don't know how God will handle these types of situations, but I know He will do it justly and righteously.
