the big picture remains that he now has a greater stake in the company and had to use his own funds in order to exercise his options.

He could have let the options expire at no cost to himself since he already has a large position and given us some rationalization but instead he committed more of his own dollars to this investment and in doing so the company instantly raised $50K.

Let's hope he has huge capital gains to pay for the 2003-04 taxable years.

Long term holds will be taxed at 15% under the new tax code, I believe.
