Authorized shares do not change on a reverse split. They use it like a personal piggy bank. When they use it for non-productive use - jet plane payroll company car research and development - BAD. When they use it for acquisitions to increase revenue it is good. They must file when they convert. Market valuation is the number of oustanding shares x current pps. If they dillute the stock (convert more to outstanding shares and the revenue stays the same our pps goes down). Market valuation / more shares = lower pps.
