I called corporate THCX yesterday and explained that I was a significant investor and was interested in speaking with someone about the company.
The receptionist said she would relay my message to Jerry Grissafi. I was surprised to get a call back about 1:00 today from John Greenwood, the head of online distribution for the company.
Here are some bullet points from our discussion.
Cold Spring Brewery in Minnesota produced about 4,100 cases recently for the first shipment to Amazon centers. This was a test run and obviously the test went better than expected. The product sold out in 3 hours with zero dollars spent on marketing. Cold Springs will produce 45,000 cases for the next run anticipated to ship in about two weeks. Right now online distribution is primarily Amazon. I asked about Alibaba but my contact was not privy to Alibaba inventory.
He came across as genuine and enthusiastic. I asked about the production capabilities of their single source bottler Cold Springs. He said they are exploring additional bottlers to take care of anticipated increases in demand for the products.
Right now they are doing some road shows in other states. With the help of Rhino marketing, they plan on doing events at colleges and universities across the country. I work as the advertising director for a southern University in Tennessee and live 30 miles from the Murfreesboro, TN Amazon plant. I handle the advertising and marketing for the campus newspaper as well as related directories. I suggested that they invest in advertising in college newspapers and college media websites. I have been doing advertising and marketing for 30 years. Their primary demo is age 20-35.
The alcohol versions (wine and related alcohol hemp infused beverages) should be coming out sometime this summer.
I asked about the increase in authorized in outstanding shares and he explained that, even though he is not a finance guy, obviously start ups need to raise cash to cover marketing/distribution
My call only restrengthened my initial hypothesis of buying THCZ
