i guess all those reports of lewis' imminent demise were a bit premature...

sounds like they had a "watershed" breakthrough...seems they can now make their fiber easier, much cheaper and with a lot better results than before...

fact of the matter is, once someone can flip a switch and produce spider silk, no one is going to need anyone using a slow method silk brought over on slow boats from china whose supply can be adversely affected by weather, food, politics etc etc...
