Anyone have a thought as to what the statement in this IDEX article/PR means "we have developed a proprietary matching algorithm"?

Is this proprietary matching algorithm something that they would use to replace bio keys matching algorithm?

I don't know about the rest of you folks but that statement is a little concerning to me without more explanation.
