Lower diesel fuel costs are only beneficial to YRCW for about a fifth of their shipments. More than 3/4 of YRCW freight shipments are under long term contracts that allow for a fuel cost adjustment when prices go up and pass along a fuel cost reduction when prices go down.

In the 3rd and 4th Q of 2014, some truckers had NEGATIVE earnings surprises because they had to pass along the fuel cost adjustment downward to their customers.
