"Why would..."???

Well, first, Loprinzi is NOT "head of oncolgy at the Mayo Clinic"!

THIS is the chairman:

don't see him saying jack about no stinkin quack medical device

Loprinzi is NOTHING but a PROFESSOR. That is essentially a MEANINGLESS title since basically EVERY medical school hands out professorships to any MD within twenty miles of their campus who is willing to be a student preceptor.

Moreover, he's a PAID FOR professor! He doesn't cost Mayo a DIME. His salary is funded by the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research which was founded by a HAIR STYLISTS and which in twenty YEARS has raised all of ELEVEN million dollars:

some foundation

Somehow that seems sooooooo appropriate!

And when you review his publications:

where's the garbage can

...there's practically NOTHING there but CV packing trash! Look at this one:

"Sequencing of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease genes in a toxic polyneuropathy."

I can tell you right now that some moron palliative care doc probably doesn't even know what "Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease" is, much less know anything about "gene sequencing"! But I bet he got his name on that paper either because the primary authors thought his publishing history would help get it past review or else he included one of the other authors on one of his papers and is getting a return "favor"! It's NOTHING but a game they play in order to pack their CVs.

Regardless, the question REMAINS -- WHY doesn't Mayo or ANYONE associated with Mayo fork over some cash to actually BUY a machine? Surely, they don't want their patients to suffer pain --wouldn't you agree? And Mayo no doubt could afford to buy a DOZEN of the things -- at LEAST! Five YEARS is surely enough experience, so why don't they?
