...there have been references to QDots being incorporated into paints, dyes & inks...I believe QMC even mentioned paints at one point, as I recall. There have been other fanciful references to QD's being used in fingernail polish, hair coloring & illuminated costumes etc, among various other comparatively insignificant apps. But I don't foresee any one of the bigger players ever getting into minor sales apps (wearable tech & paints, yes...fingernail polish, no)...I don't think you're likely to ever see QD's sold by the ounce at Home Depot for instance....but-then, you never know ;) You may be able to buy small quantities (for whatever reason) from some Rusky outfit that sells thru Alibaba, or even suppliers like Sigma Aldrich, with sales to bonafide researchers, but that's about it...in-short; raw QDots don't appear to be destined for general public sales, even if you could find a use for them in your garage. The primary thrust for the bigger players (incl QMC) is directed toward mega-sales (tonnage), for a given purpose, in the wholesale markets.
