wbmw, where is your logic? So HP likes to buy products that they can't sell and that will be obsolete by the time the product launches?

How can the 1.8 Ghz A64 with 1 Mb cache can be obsolete by september? P4 will be 3.2 Ghz by then. The tipical business $999 desktop will ship with P4 2.8 Ghz or Barton 2800. This chip will be faster than both of them.

My idea that AMD is dumping the first batch of A64 to HP does not mean that this chip is obsolete. It is the slowest of A64's, but it is quite fast comparing to mainstream P4 grades.
