No offense to any of us little guys, but the people you want on boards of directors are people with experience in running companies, or scientists in the research end, who have connections that will help you get meetings with people who can in some way help the company. There are tens or hundreds of thousands of little guys like us who are knowledgeable, but what we need are heavy hitters with industry connections.

And not some dentist either (people who've been here awhile know what I mean).
