$FRCN ~ What is Seal-Coat?

Asphalt sealcoats consist of paving grade asphalt cement, a thin layer of cutbacks asphalt material and asphalt emulsions. Other elements are normally added to the asphaltic liquid mixture to modify the asphalt. They include latex, rubber, polymers, rejuvenators, sand, aggregates, mineral, sythetic fillers and rubber crumbs are sometimes applied after the asphaltic mixture has been added to the pavement surface.

The sealcoat is normally applied in thin coats, on pavement sealings to protect road ways, highways, and off-highway pavement surfaces against gasoline, oil, salt, water, and ultraviolet rays.
