I have often wondered how SmokeCloak® works in the real world.

"A thick and disorienting fog wards off offenders and deposits a unique, location-specific DNA marker on skin, clothing and stolen items".

So one assumes it marks everything and everyone and can't be removed? So if used lets say in an art museum or jewelers with very expensive original items . How do you clean the DNA off what doesn't get stollen? I don't want to buy a Picasso covered in DNA . I can think of a few ways this could cause problems down the road.
