1.) It exists. You can go there, and see it on TV. Its tangible in that sense. If there was a calamitous event and trading was reduced to an earlier level, the NYSE could and would revert to physical trading on the floor as it did in the past. NASDAQ exists only in cyberspace.
2.) As a former NY'er, I used to go to the public gallery of the NYSE, long since closed to the public for security unfortunately, and watch the action on the floor. It always was fascinating, but there was a buzz or hum to the place that really made you believe you it was the life flow of the nation, and the center of US enterprise.
That's it. For a Sunday afternoon that's my musing. And its also probably the same reason twice in a way.
Anyway, any upgrade to either is going to be just fine, and anyway, who wants yet another change to the SLTD ticker symbol to another three letter one? GLTA
