Geekbench doesn't mean a damn, and unfairly advantaged for ARM architecture based on AES/SHA acceleration

That's true. Since Intel isn't as flexible as ARM when designing new instruction set extensions, they can't (and shouldn't anyway) react on such "benchmark trends". But, nevertheless, Core m just isn't the big hit it was meant to be. Sure, it's best performance, especially single threaded, but it also seems to be difficult to integrate, quite hot and expensive compared to anything else in mobile. It doesn't matter much though, since Core m, for whatever reason, isn't supported on Android. It certainly is a perfect match for Windows devices and that's probably the only reason why it can be priced so high.

One shouldn't deny though, that the competition gets closer and closer to what Intel can achieve with its highest end core (at low power figures) and that with an older process technology. Give them two more generations and Intel will have a very hard time to still ask for that kind of prices for its entry and maybe mid range cores. Things can get very ugly then, especially if Chrome OS or some other Linux based system turns out as big success.
