China Draft Counterterror Law Strikes Fear in Foreign Tech Firms

Where that is all going is that China won't be able to use foreign manufactured chips or software and people outside China won't want to use Chinese chips and be spied on by China. I guess there is still a market in opening a fab inside China and manufacturing chips for domestic use there with whatever trapdoors the government there wants, but the way this is going all they'll want is the architecture and design the chips themselves in case there are foreign trapdoors at any lower level.

Anyway it'll end any ambition China has of being any sort of power in technology. I hope it doesn't become a general way of doing things - Russia looks like it might be next and then it would be India and then perhaps blocks like the European Community after they see what is happening.
