Thanks Chef, my background is in drug development/biology. I worked for a couple of start up biotech companies. While I do not understand entirely the engineering aspects or aerospace industry like others on this board, (which I appreciate their input and makes me feel good that industry people think this technology is important), I do understand with a staff of less than 10 people how long it takes to develop something. You are often not only the scientist, but the web designer, secretary, coffee maker, accountant etc. So it takes time. I worked for two small companies that went under and one that was bought out by a big pharma company. The decision for the professor/ceo at that one was big pharma gives you a lot of money, you go to work for them with a lab full of phds, have lots of R&D money to work on what you love the science and not the finances and headaches of a small start up. Oh and they will fly you to Europe a couple times a year to give a speech. It is almost a no brainer choice. So in the back of my mind I would not be surprised if GE just bought Sigma, and put Mark's office next to Greg Morris, have the patents and expertise in house. Thanks to everyone on this board for their input.
