"If it is what they say it is, and can prove it, announce it"

I disagree.

If this can be proved, and there is a plate from a person on the Concepcion, that would mean only one thing. The Concepcion is in the area. They have not brought it up yet, they have not recovered the valuables yet, and they would be at HIGH risk of people coming in illegally to try to steal some of the fortune. I even remember someone a while ago on THIS board saying basically that he would have no problem taking items and not documenting with the state and not worrying about whose permitted area it was in. he would go illegally and take what he could find, if he was sure it was there. It would happen. Period.

No, don't give a certainty that you have a treasure ship before you bring the treasure up. Especially so close to shore. So I disagree with saying anything about the owner of that plate.

As for finding the ship. I believe they HAVE found a ship. the Concepcion? We don't know (Which is a good thing ... see above paragraph) We will find out once we bust through and start taking things out, but we don't know yet. But, we know they were scanning all over the place for a long time, and then all of a sudden all three boats were on ONE spot. for DAYS. And then, the worst diving winter in five came along, and they have not gotten out like they normally would. Shoot, last year there were plenty of diving days in the winter. this year, not true. But they DID focus on two SPOTS, and not trolling around, during the very last days of diving. I personally believe (opinion) it is because they have a wreck right there. One that maybe split into two parts, since two boats were together and one was a little bit away from the other two. But two spots concentrated on and no surveying of any other spots after that.

Why have they not applied for the salvage permit? That is one of the first questions I intend to ASK them when I SEE them for a few days in two weeks. I'll be visiting them, have arranged to see the conservation lab and the boats, and spend some time with Kyle and the good Dr. I don't think I'll be able to post much about it, as they told me I'll have to sign a NDA when I arrive, but at least I'll know more than I know now. And I can post my opinions now, before I go, since I don't have information others don't have. Just the same opinion that we are onto something ALREADY, and it is a matter of time until we know if it is the Concepcion or not.

From diving, not from the plate. smile
