well I think it's more a combination. they have three divisions to the business: monster marketing, vip spirits and the mucho macho brand. It appears the company owns both brands (along with a few others they haven't really discussed yet). I'd assume for a small business it'd be too expensive to both manufacture, brand and market all of the product lines they're pushing, so my guess is they co-opted a few of their products under a co-branding agreement. but it looks like they own the brands.
