Bawitdaba or just Cocky? Kid Rock files a lawsuit in Detroit seeking to halt the sale and distribution of a '99 videotape featuring him and ex-Creed singer Scott Stapp engaging in sex acts with four women. "We don't deny the authenticity of the tape," says an attorney for Rock. "But they're using this without his permission." 2006

1990's Bonnie Raitt has a big night at the 32nd Grammy Awards in L.A. She wins Album of the Year (“Nick Of Time”), Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female (“Nick Of Time”) and Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female (“Nick Of Time”). 1990
2000's Steely Dan’s “Two Against Nature,” the group’s first studio album in nearly 20 years, wins Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album Grammys. It’s the first time the group, long passed its prime, gets a Grammy. On a more relevant note, U2’s “Beautiful Day” picks up Grammys for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Rock Performance while Foo Fighters pick up Best Rock Album for “There Is Nothing Left To Lose” and Best Short Form Music Video for “Learn To Fly." Now those are worthy. 2001

How low will you go. Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil releases a DVD that documents his stint co-hosting the world's sexiest stripper contest held annually in Las Vegas. Girls, Girls, Girls Volume I features women competing in categories like Best Strip Tease and Best Lap Dance for the Sexiest Stripper title. There is $25,000 in cash prizes which is a lot of money to stuff into panties. 2005

A couple of announcements: Areosmith’s Steven Tyler is separating from Teresa, his wife of 17 years. No reason is given and Tyler, in a prepared statement, requests privacy and sensitivity – not that he’ll get it. Also, U2's frontman Bono is one of the 166 nominees for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize. It’s for his charity and human rights activism. 2005

Kinks frontman Ray Davies’ solo album "Other People's Lives" is in stores. 2006

EMI Music (The Beatles' label) and Apple Corps (The Beatles' company) sue a cleaning firm for approximately $1.3 million, claiming a janitor in their employ tossed original photos of The Beatles shot in '63. The suit states the firm was negligent, failed to follow instructions, failed to take reasonable care and failed to properly train or supervise their employee. The photos were in two boxes marked "Not Rubbish - Do Not Remove." The photos show John, Paul, George and Ringo leaning over a staircase at EMI’s office in Manchester Square, London. The pictures graced the cover of U.K. release "Please Please Me" and the compilation "Red Album." 2007

Killswitch Engage headline the 35-city No Fear Music Tour in support of their "As Daylight Dies" disc. "Pat definitely shreds, and we can't thank him enough for helping us out," reads a band statement. 2007

A fine use of tax dollars. After receiving $1.5 billion in federal bank bailout money (and laying off 450 employees), Northern Trust of Chicago throws a huge L.A. party for clients and employees, paying $50,000 to have the House of Blues shut down for a private Sheryl Crow concert. 2009
2010's Econoline Crush sue Nickelback because they feel "Figured You Out" is a knock-off of their single "All That You Are." 2011

To protest the Russian Orthodox Church’s endorsement of a third term for President Vladimir Putin, the female Punk band Pussy Riot perform “Mother Of God, Chase Putin Away!” on the altar of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, the holiest site in Russian Orthodoxy. The performance lasts a little over a minute before Church security drag the band out. A couple weeks later, the group is arrested on charges of “hooliganism motivated by religious hatred,” which has nothing to do with their political protest. 2012

Blur is presented with the 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' honor at the Brit Awards at London’s O2 Arena.
