I think geoprom is like gazprom, but for minerals. It seems to be the driving force behind all the new mineral wealth being acquired by seemingly random entities. they are redistributing assets in russia and apparently with a lot of controversy.

I found a fairly interesting link with NDOL too. If you go to www.nordoil.ru, you'll find that Rosneft and Nord Oil are almost interchangeable. My translations may be off, but it seems like there is still a company in Russia called Nord Oil operating separately from the public Canadian company.

Did Nord Oil, Russia, only use part of its assets to go public, like we're seeing with North-West? Apparently, Rosneft oil was taken by its current owner in rather seedy ways by a rather seedy owner. Not having much information available to us about Nord Oil North America's past might make sense if it's past was in the hand of some Slovakians who had it taken away by the Russian government.

This is also an interesting connection too because Rosneft and North-West Oil Group have been linked on more than one occasion in the past.

The more I read into this, the more I come to understand the big picture, and that all these operations are 100% legit, they just don't have a very prideful past.
