This is not new news. Question is did he mis-speak, have senior moment or intentionally mislead:

1 of the original 3 avastin ph 2 studies were stat sig
The lucentis ph 2 in AMD was stat sig
xolair ph 2 was stat sig

I was at Genentech for 9 of his 17 years, and was in clinical development, not a dept mgr of regulatory(regulatory had no role in analysis of trial data)

I can think of 10+ ph 2 trials at genentech that reached statistical significance during his time
