I believe that distractions, i.e. talking / texting on the phone, messing with the radio, people picking their nose, etc. are the cause of most traffic deaths. I'm sure improperly maintained cars are also adding to the list...

No one should be driving while stoned out of their minds. It may not be as bad as alcohol, but I have personally witnessed (at least a few times) peoples' driving ability go from mediocre to bad in a hurry while stoned.
