A little information about Synagis: It isn't technically a vaccine. It is an immunoglobulin that must be administered in 5 separate injections usually into the thigh muscle at the whopping cost of $1300-2600 per injection. It is important to note that Synagis does not prevent RSV infection and only potentially reduces the severity of illness should RSV be contracted. With that in mind, I would think that ABT would have a huge interest in adding to its arsenal where this disease is concerned.
