GS, your reasons 1-3 are why charter DIDN'T bother to contact mac . . . how could charter know mac was about to resign? . . . do you think mac's resignation was spontaneous? . . . mac knew the inside info, charter DIDN'T . . . charter was shut out until MAC CALLED HIM . . . if charter was to call mac for the IP, he would have waited until off-patent . . . this hand over was well planned . . . MAC is the brains here . . .
