Chris "Madoff" Carey's current reputation as a top tier businessman/entrepreneur I believe has been damaged by what happened here...so he did not come out of this unscathed. What he did to this company and shareholders was fraudulent. In my opinion, I think it will be pretty hard for him to convince future perspective investors to get behind him on any new business venture going forward. Investors will put the bad word out on him as untrustworthy...and a bad business reputation hurts more than actually losing money.
