His Asian influence is a factor no doubt and marketed that way there. Excellent point md....... But that also is in foreign markets where it happens also mostly.

20 yrs is a stretch...He is a great player undoubtedly but no longer feared for a few years. 1997 was his breakout until his untimely 9 iron incident , 2010? or so, which seemed to take the wheels off the cart. Also injuries and his focus strictly on majors.

The White guys are just that, up and down with their performance. As fast as they slip so do the big advertisers. Due also to the fact there are more in golf right now. Not so much with other races and smaller participating countries. They are upheld higher as it is an obvious smaller percentage on the tour. Nothing there but the amount of other nationalities and races. Even Japanese golfers who do well here are like hero's back in Japan where they love their golf.

When you see a rise in a countries player that has little participation rate it is the same no matter what.

It will change as the dynamics change. Just a fact at this point.
