Not really. If you're trained on the sprayers it's usually about 300 bucks. The glue is fibrinogen and thrombin...it works really well because it creates a natural bond between the mesh and the hernia site, especially if there is fresh raw oozing tissue. Go to pub med and type in fibrin glue or the fibrin sealant that begins with a T and hernia. Tons of literature. Key attribute of the glue is reduced dead space...helps w seromas and pocket build up. Scalpel...the Lankenau guys and others in the region have done a few papers on this.
