Scalpel and Daktari can speak to this better than I can, but I am seeing more and more surgeons going away from tacks due to the inherent complications with them. They are also expensive. Im seeing surgeons use a combination of suture and fibrin glue for hernia repair...Inguinal, hiatal, and ventral. There is a ton of literature on using fibrin glue as a way to fixate the mesh to the tissue. What are your thoughts on this, Dak and Scalpel? Btw...I see this in a lot of robotic cases now. Spraying the fibrin glue (I wont name my product) is fast, easy, and very effective if sprayed correctly and quickly using the arms to compress the mesh to the tissue..
