Haven't a clue how Mr. Dowd arrived at his number. Regardless his point was made. His tone didn't sound abusive or anything like a tirade to me, but I wasn't in the room. Bear in mind, it took some measure of courage to stand up and ask those questions at that meeting, so the strength of his words and manner were most likely adrenalin-induced. Mr. Dowd has my respect.

One man's enlightenment is another man's fog. Just a difference of opinion between us on the value of his QCOM vs RMBS illustration.

Not all polished executives spout empty platitudes. Perhaps you are confusing corporate leaders with elected officials? Both may be politicians responsible to diverse constituencies, but the similarity ends there. Shareholders, including Rambus's, hold an expectation their corporate leaders get paid the big bucks for a reason.

Just my opinion.
