I saw that as a rhetorical question . . . as in you were just stating a matter of fact from your own perspective. I didn't realize you were actually looking for some affirmation.

What is fair, here? That "Record Date" PR couldn't have been written any clearer -- you HAD to be a shareholder on record AS OF CLOSE OF TRADING ON MONDAY, MAY 1, 2006, to participate in the spin-off and receive a dividend.

As for doing things the "right" way: What is the "right" way? Whether a company chooses to follow the typical path or to take a path rarely taken does not define the appropriateness of that choice. It is an appropriate choice either way.

Now, however the NASD decides is another question entirely; either the NASD accepts the path as defined, or they reject that path and dictate a new one. In my opinion, the jury is still out on that one. We shall see in due time.
