So, what's the big deal about the options?

The trendline over the past few years is down and down some more.
CY03 awards for the top 6 is more than 900Kshares.
CY04 is more than 560K
CY05 shows 250K.
The footnote says 315K for all execs, to be included in 06 numbers, and 2923.74K shares to nonexecs.

That is about as egalitarian as I would ever expect.

Dowd made a big inflammatory comparison about (I think) various ratios of options sold by rmbs and qcom officers this year. That is not a ticket to a rational conversation in my opinion.

So, I also notice that Mr. Dowd did conflate the statement of HH.
It was originally offered as ~'It is not possible to run a technology firm like rmbs without an options program. If you fundamentally oppose the concept of employee options incentive programs, I suggest you find a stock that doesn't use them, like Coke.'
Dowd did then restate HH position as "If you don't like THIS options plan, then you should sell,', and then proceeded to declare his version of HH verbiage as arrogant. Yes, but that is not what HH said.

I see that HH served as an Army Officer from 1969-1972,
and heard Dowd say he was a navy pilot. A couple of hotheads yelling at each other, and roping in a bunch of dopes with them. Just wonderfull. Dowd was 'itching for a fight' and found one...

Does anyone have proxy forms from comparator companies, including qcom? Who is the ISS or IIS group that evaluates option plans?
This board is my only hope for rational discussion.
