The "shame" part can't really be determined unless you know the whole story as to why a company had to go BK 11. If the company is at fault and the reasons are suspect, then yes..it's a "shame shame, pish mashame' on the company and officers.
But many times it's just a case of "things didn't work out", and this is a risk of investing? in BB stocks or any other stock for that matter.

Where the real TSK! TSK! TSK! comes in, is when posters start posting a bunch of hogwash that no one should be concerned, buy more, everything'll be okay...because that just isn't the case (usually). Almost every BK11 that I have seen ends up where the stockholders shares are cancelled, and they get nothing.

I think when planet hollywood (was that the one?) went chapter 11, they threw the shareholders a bone and they ended up with something like 2% of the company after reorg. don't quote me on that though, I am doing it from memory, and my memory isn't that great when it comes to things that I don't really have any real interest in. I read about it, then after a week or so, the specifics become a little hazy.
