y'all may be on to something, synergies still unrealized, years ago AA had more management per employee than ANY airline, while competitors were running 6-12 vice presidents, AA had upwards of 42-47 VP's. i am sure the vice president-regional manager of stir stick distribution, would argue that point, but a lot of bean counters to be sure
