CP, re Blackrock, I gather no one here has Blackrock managing their assets or is otherwise invested in shares of Blackrock, in light of replies you have received so far.

When my wife and I invested in FBIOX, one of Fidelity's Select Funds in biotech sector, we subsequently received a prospectus that listed all the biotech stocks, device companies, BPs, etc that were in its Fund portfolio. That list included the no.of shares held of each individual company in the Fund as well as the % that each of the top 10 comprised as a % of Fund net asset value[dated 8/31/2014]. I was surprised at the sheer number of individual companies in that list, some of which we already owned shares of and others that I had never heard of. GILD at the time comprised 13% of net asset value of the Fund[11,357.006 shares with a then value of well over a billion $$$], VRTX was 5.4%, CELG 4.7%, etc.

From such a list, knowing the no. of shares held of an individual company, one could investigate the number of outstanding or authorized share of each, and then determine the % of each companies' shares held.

I receive a similar prospectus, including a list of portfolio companies, from HQL, a closed-end fund I have long been invested in.

I do not know whether Blackrock has a similar prospectus in place.
That might tell us where in the various entities comprising Blackrock that PPHM's shares reside.
