Shake Shack is Not the Only IPO Making Some Noise -- Market Talk

11:55 EST - Shake Shack (SHAK) may be hogging the spotlight today by jumping more than 130% in its stock-trading debut, but another IPO is also making a splash. Spark Therapeutics (ONCE) priced its IPO last night at $23 a share, above its range of $19 to $21--a range that already had been raised. The gene therapy company, whose first product candidate targets rare blinding conditions, also sold more shares than expected (7M vs. its original plan to offer 5.5M shares). The buzz around ONCE stemmed in part from its potential to receive the first-ever FDA approval for a gene therapy product, according to one fund manager. ONCE shares opened at $45.10, 96% above their IPO price. They're recently traded at $42.14. ([e-mail])
