I thought they had the big rig up there and had begun to drill...why in the world would they stop that particular hole or not even start it? They believe that they know where the pophery is without the benefit of any aerial imaging.

Did you not read the latest PR and the drilling update from December 23rd? It was explained in no uncertain terms why the drill program was temporarily suspended. In Auryn's exact words:

"Since the last announcement on December 23, 2014 the property position has been increased by the addition of the NUOCO properties (Las Dos Marias and Mambo/ Colombo claims) totaling in excess of 2000 hectares. There also have been positive developments in the acquisition of the past producing Fortuna de Lampa property. In light of these new developments, the Company has decided to temporarily suspend drilling in order to evaluate and prioritize targets to be tested by drilling in 2015. Complementary to the fast tracking of prioritizing the known targets, there will be an increased emphasis on evaluating the regional exploration potential and an assessment of the economic significance of existing tailings and mine dumps in the area."

If you're still confused, then you need to reread the December 23rd drilling update and then the update from last week.

To paraphrase, Auryn could keep poking deeper holes into the Gordon Breccia until they (eventually) hit the porphyry body...OR now that Auryn has gained control of the entire ADL property through the JV with LDM/NUOCO and the impending Fortuna JV with Cerro Dorado, they can undertake the aeromag survey and leverage that data to properly prioritize the best drill targets to more efficiently utilize their resources to prove up and assess the property.
