To be honest, there haven't been many big losses over the past year. The last time I lost much was back in late 2004/ early 2005. Made some bad decisions then, and I think I learned from them.

I've been shaking my head lately over performance that is weaker than yours :), 54% YTD in our IRAs, approaching 100% for the past 9 months. One factor has been reducing losses. I tend not to be as patient with positions, having a quicker trigger finger for those that are heading down. I'm not in much of a mood to give much back to the markets - to the extent that I can avoid doing that.
