OR slow track enrollment?

as one of us has repeatedly reported, his MD friends at a certain major US site are all euphoric about SUNRISE, yet I can assure you that after 12 months the oncologists there are still seeking to complete enrolling of up to 6 patients. And I shall not ask them how many they have enrolled so far, unethical.

So:

King said the patients were out there and they only have to get them in the trial.

really? a second line patient often is too sick to consider more chemo.

prospects are very rare birds, IMO, having lived with a second/third line patient.

also there possibly are competing trials available to patients, with more press coverage than SUNRISE has been accorded by our management.

They said they campaigned the sites personally (incl. SK) by visiting them

If so, it appears it did not make one iota of difference at that site. Personally, I would consider this a negative if it is not the industry practice, and if it is industry practice, BP would impress more -- so a Mexican stand-off in that case.

Shan said at least 3 times that the recruitment was ON TRACK

Words (as prone to Peregrine) but no supporting publicity so far, so "track" might be a flat-lying hockeystick. we just do not know until some sites report "no longer enrolling".

In sum, I am fed up with any one hyping enrollment, it's just as annoying as carping about the SP.

best,
N
