poster44ny -- have you served, or for that matter been subject to a draft? -- I haven't served, had just high enough a number to not be drafted during the later part of Vietnam (and to be clear, I was vehemently opposed to that grotesque and insane war and would have left the country if necessary to avoid being forced into it, I would claim on principle and not due to any sort or degree of cowardice; I simply was not going to be, be used as, part of that, fuck no; if there were, had been, a real need, for some legitimate conflict, my reaction would have been well OK, fine, gotta do what you gotta do, but that madness, fuck no, fuck off)
