So it begins..... or at least appears to begin.

I've noticed several sites liquidating Radioshack inventory; but they are probably not affiliated with Radioshack. This morning I noticed a liquidation site that uses the Radioshack logo and most likely is affiliated with Radioshack. (ie: I believe they have a contract with Radioshack to help move excess inventory). I will not provide links since I do not know much about then and am do not advocate them.

(Since it is not difficult to find them I do want to point out they indicate a charge of 3% for credit card purchases and 4% for paypal purchases).

It is possible the inventory they liquidate is part of normal business; as retail companies often have merchandise such as returns to liquidate.

Note two of their "legal" disclaimers:

• Former Employee Restriction

– Previous RadioShack employees or companies that employ previous RadioShack employees are prohibited from participating on xxxxxxxx

• Brand Restriction

– Buyers are expressly prohibited from using the RadioShack name, logo, or any other representation of RadioShack Corporation in their resale listings of any kind.

At the current time they only list two pallets of "scrap" laptops; each pallet holding 100 notebooks of various brands (Acer, Dell, HP...). Starting bid is listed as $500; but there is a reserve of $4,000 or $40 per notebook. Unlike most places only completing a sale when a reserve price is met; their FAQs indicate they can opt to sell to the highest bidder when the reserve is not met.
