Saunders expands defense & fuel infrastructure work

Saunders International Ltd Managing Director and CEO Mark Benson talked with Proactive at the AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company’s strong momentum, recent project wins and the strategic expansion into defense and infrastructure sectors. Benson discussed the company’s extensive work in the defense sector, including the **Larrakeyah Defense Precinct** in Darwin, where Saunders handled the complete marine diesel infrastructure — from delivery to ship fueling — a capability he said sets the company apart. “Typically it’s done through 3 to 6 contractors. Now we can do that end to end.” The company now sees a $2.3 billion pipeline of directly addressable opportunities, with up to $4.8 billion in total defense-related fuel infrastructure upgrades anticipated across the next decade. Saunders is actively tendering for $580 million of that. Benson said Saunders’ unique value in defense projects includes not just technical delivery but risk reduction for government clients. “In defense, it’s not all about price. Light Science Technologies Holdings PLC (AIM:LST) CEO Simon Deacon talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the significant opportunity surrounding the company’s Injecta Fire Barrier solution, particularly in light of ongoing fire safety issues in the UK’s residential building sector. Wrkr CEO on super compliance growth strategy

Wrkr Limited CEO Trent Lund talked with Proactive at the AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company’s strategy to simplify compliance through a deeply integrated digital platform. The ASX-listed company, trading under the ticker WRK, connects users, employers, and superannuation funds to streamline data accuracy and reduce friction in onboarding processes. “We do all the hard work and the heavy lifting so the business and the employee don’t have to,” said Lund. He explained that Wrkr verifies user credentials and automates data flows, reducing error and increasing trust. The system connects to major superannuation funds and payroll systems, holding accurate user information even during job transitions. Lund detailed Wrkr’s monetisation model, which aims to earn approximately $7 per user through microservices, including license checks and transactions. Current pilots, including one with major fund REST, are transitioning to production. Each super fund implementation takes about nine months and represents between $7 million and $14 million in annual annuity revenue once fully operational. EnWave expands footprint with commercial license in Japan and U.S. biopharmaceutical agreement

EnWave Corporation CEO Brent Charleton joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the company has signed a commercial license agreement with Hokkai Yamato Foods Japan, a leading producer of processed foods such as soups, furikake, and ochazuke. As part of the agreement, Hokkai Yamato has acquired a 10kW Radiant Energy Vacuum (REV™) machine to drive product development and support early-stage commercial production in Japan. This license grants Hokkai Yamato exclusive rights to use EnWave’s patented REV™ technology for the production of various food products within Japan. In return, Hokkai Yamato will pay royalties to EnWave, consistent with existing licensing agreements. EnWave will work closely with Hokkai Yamato to optimize product development and ensure long-term commercial success. In addition to expanding its presence in the Japanese food sector, EnWave has also signed a master service agreement with BioTechnique, a U.S.-based pharmaceutical contract manufacturer. This agreement lays the groundwork for BioTechnique to evaluate EnWave’s REV™ dehydration technology as a potential alternative to freeze-drying in biopharmaceutical applications. As part of the collaboration, BioTechnique will conduct paid testing of several liquid pharmaceutical products, drying them in vials using pilot-scale REV™ machinery at EnWave’s Innovation Center in Delta, British Columbia.
