It's a good article but it has nothing to do with DDI's products either past or present.

It does unfortunately highlight one key element that is hardly ever brought up. That is the technical specifications, guality assurance, and qualification for service.

Smith mentioned (only once) his desire and anticipation for "getting NHU's qualified". No indication since then on how that process is going, what types of service or specific applications or pressures they are seeking qualifications for, or when it will be complete.

As many of you know, the only NHU section reported to have been installed to date has been a very short segment in an SSIV unit. It was bolted into brackets on the rig platform leg down to the bottom. The single confirmed application of an NHU is West Delta 143 (370' depth).

It has been about 2 years since DDI stated that they were ready to produce NHU's (and that they are the greatest thing since sliced bread).

Why no sales of NHU's still?

I think it would be very informative to compose an email to the author of that article and ask how their products compare to DDI's steel flying leads and NHU's.

I already have a pretty good idea what the answer will be but I'm sure that many readers would appreciate a post of the response.
