You are absolutely right that Denner will not wait three years. So something has to give.

Here is what may have happened, which may explain HB's discomfort yesterday:

Harvey's three year plan was certainly communicated to the BoD. Denner tells Harvey that he is not acting once more in the interests of the shareholders and must give up the leadership. This means open warfare, Harvey becomes understandably nervous at the prospect and acts accordingly at the interview.

If push came to shove, how would the big institutional shareholders vote?
